Nursing Clinical Instructor/Lecturer, Fulltime

Job Description

The Department of Nursing at Rockford University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track nursing faculty position at the Lecturer rank. Primary responsibilities will be teaching in the undergraduate classroom, simulation lab and/or clinical setting.

The successful candidate will be required to teach 15 workload credits in the fall and spring semesters and will be eligible for benefits and continuing education activities.

Required qualifications:

  • Registered nurse license in the state of Illinois, or eligible to obtain an Illinois registered nurse license by the start of the fall semester
  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • At least two years of experience providing direct patient care

Preferred qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with medical-surgical or pediatrics experience
  • Teaching experience
  • Doctoral degree preferred but not required

Rockford University is seeking qualified candidates for a Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics in the PURI School of Business at Rockford University.  The department includes traditional undergraduate day, evening and weekend adult accelerated degree-completion in a hybrid format, and an evening/weekend MBA program. The Business program combines a liberal arts orientation with a professional approach. This position is a replacement for a retiring professor in economics. This faculty member will teach the required supporting courses in Business and the MBA programs; starting Fall 2024.

Primary teaching responsibilities include Introductory Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Business Forecasting at undergraduate level, Managerial Economics and Business and National Economy at MBA level. Assistant Technical Director

Rockford University invites candidates for the position of Assistant Technical Director.  The ATD will be responsible for coordinating and executing all technical aspects and needs of campus community and rental companies who use Clark Arts Center.  This full-time position offers a rich benefits package upon hire including medical, dental, vision, matching employer contribution to a 403b and tuition remission for the employee, spouse/partner, and dependents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Main contact for all rental companies to discuss their technical requirements and responsible for insuring that all technical and spacial needs are met for each event.
  • Main contact for the Forum administrator to contact with technical requirements for Forums, and responsible for insuring that all technical and spacial needs are met for each event.
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff as needed throughout the Clark Arts building on a daily
  • Schedule work study students and help oversee their daily
  • Help direct and supervise students enrolled in the Production class every
  • Help ensure that all projects taken on by or assigned to the Performing Arts department are completed on time and with great care.
  • Update the archival videos and photos for all main stage and campus
  • Keep the scene shop and theater facilities clean, organized and safe for daily
  • Update calendar of events in all Performing Arts rooms of Clark Arts Center on the master
  • Supervise and help with building shows for the Performing Arts productions.
  • Supervise and help with lights and sound for the Performing Arts productions.
  • Video tape all PA productions for archival
  • Help to organize storage of props, platforms, furniture and flats so they remain easy and safe to
  • Problem solve any issues that may arise during the operations of any event in the Clark Arts Center.
  • Keep record of materials kept in the Script Library, and note when new materials are
  • Keep aware of the materials in the Scene Shop and note when new materials are
  • Make sure all 3 PA first aid kits are maintained throughout each
  • Create Work orders needed for the Clark Arts

The selected candidate will receive up to 21 hours of tuition remission per academic year, room and board and a monthly stipend. Maintenance worker, part-time

Rockford University seeks to hire a part-time employee to complete general maintenance tasks on a temporary basis. The selected candidate will work up to 24 hours per week, starting at 9 am and working Monday through Friday. Work may be individual or working within assigned areas with a member of the Maintenance, Grounds, or Housekeeping Staff. Perform general maintenance, grounds, or cleaning duties daily, operate hand tools, riding lawn mowers, snow blowers, vacuums, other Facilities equipment as needed, work from a ladder, and perform related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations. Punctuality and attention to detail are critical components of employment. Hours vary according to projects and tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. General cleaning: bathroom disinfection, sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing windows, and picking up trash in designated areas.
2. Major cleaning: walls, woodwork, doors, light fixtures, carpets and furniture.
3. Work from a ladder, assist in moving furniture (able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds).
4. Assist Maintenance personnel with routine repairs as required.
5. Assist with room set-ups and take-downs for events.
6. Operate the following equipment: vacuums and wet vacuums, riding lawn mowers, hand tools such as drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other equipment as necessary.
7. Vacuum and clean fan coils, check fan motors and change filters.
8. Must present a neat appearance at ALL times. May wear: T-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, and slacks. May NOT wear: Sleeveless shirts, tank tops, crop tops, shorts, or open-toed shoes and gym shoes. All clothing should be free of offensive or derogatory print/pictures.
9. Ability to set work priorities and to work independently in cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work duties.
10. Work shoes must be work at all times.
11. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in working with faculty, staff and students with diverse backgrounds including academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, and disabilities.
