The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, Highland Community College and Rockford University announce Rubin Education Challenge, creating $5,000,000 in endowed funds for scholarships.

The Lincoln Academy of Illinois honored the top college and university students in the state during a ceremony held in Springfield in November.

Classes for the spring 2016 semester begin on Tuesday, January 19 at Rockford University and there is still time to enroll.

Mid-year Rockford University degree candidates will be honored on Saturday, December 5 during the December Recognition Ceremony.

Brett is from, South Beloit, Illinois and was nominated by Dr. Mehmet Dik and Dr. Filiz Dik. He is a math major, and this is his first semester at RU.

Mayra is a senior Elementary Education major from LaSalle-Peru, Illinois. She is a Golden Apple Scholar and is also pursuing teaching endorsements in Bilingual and Special Education. Mayra was nominated by Professor Lynn Stafford, Associate Professor in the Education Department.

The Rockford University Psych Society Club is running their annual coat drive through December 1. All donations to the drive will benefit the Jubilee Center and MAYA’s House.

Approximately 200 students from high schools in the Stateline area will visit Rockford University to attend the Annual Entrepreneurship Day, on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the University’s Burpee Center, 5050 East State Street, Rockford.
