Contact: Director of Communications Rita Elliott, 815-226-3374 Rockford University was recognized by the American Advertising Federation of Northern Illinois with eight 2016 American Advertising (ADDY) Awards for advertising creative excellence. The AAF Northern Illinois is the advertising industry trade association serving advertising creatives, public relations, marketing, and other communications industry professionals in and around Rockford, Illinois, and represents the Rockford Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the AAF is the oldest advertising trade association representing over 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry in a national network of 200 ad clubs in communities across the country. The University’s Advancement division submitted a collection of Rock Solid, Gala, and Capital Campaign collateral materials into this year’s competition. Rockford University’s collection of entries included seven submissions, and all seven were selected by the ADDY panel of judges to receive an ADDY. On February 18, 2016, AAF Northern Illinois held its annual awards presentation and presented Rockford University with the following seven awards:

Entries were judged based upon creativity, originality, and creative strategy. The ADDY Awards Competition, the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence, is a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. Gold award submissions from the local chapters are automatically entered into the next (district) level of the awards program. If selected in the district tier, submissions then compete at the national level.
