Rockford University and the Rockford Chamber have continued their partnership to present the People You Should Know (PYSK) Talks. This series, highlighting a collection of weekly talks, features recipients of the Chamber’s People You Should Know Awards.

Students, faculty and staff at Rockford University will participate in a “Read Aloud of Black American Voices” in celebration of Black American History Month on February 17 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Assistant Professor of Philosophy Shawn Klein, Ph.D., has been asked to participate in a number of media appearances focusing on the nation’s latest sports obsession with under-inflated footballs.

The biennial art auction, Heart Art, will be held Friday, February 20 from 6-9 p.m. in the Rockford University Art Gallery located in the Clark Arts Center on the Rockford University campus, 5050 East State Street, Rockford.

Rockford University joins just 361 other colleges and universities from across the nation, and one of only 11 in Illinois, to receive the 2015 Community Engagement Classification from The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The Rockford University Spring 2015 Forum Series will begin Friday, January 23. There will be nine events at the University this spring that span a wide variety of topics and interests. All events are open to the public and with the exception of theatre events, are offered at no charge.

Students interested in attending, or who would like to learn more about Rockford University, are encouraged to attend a visit day on Saturday, February 7.

Classes for the spring 2015 semester begin on Tuesday, January 20 at Rockford University and there is still time to enroll.

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has recognized Rockford University as a leader among institutions of higher education for its support of volunteering, service learning, and civic engagement for the sixth consecutive year.
