The Rockford University Performing Arts Department will conclude its 2014-2015 theatre season with Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost.”

Science club Alpha Helix was awarded the 2015 Hutchcroft Youth Award for Environmental Excellence by Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful during an April 2 Earth Day Luncheon.

The Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement (JACCE) at Rockford University recognized women leaders on the University’s campus with the Young Leader Award and Women’s History Month Recognition Award in a ceremony held March 31.

Philip Soosloff, Professor of art at Rockford University, will present the ‘Last Lecture’ on April 23, 7 p.m. in the Rockford University Art Gallery, Clark Arts Center, 5050 E. State St., Rockford. The lecture is part of the spring Forum series at the University.

The 4th Annual Sport Studies Symposium will take place on April 24, 2015 from 1 – 5 p.m., in the Severson Auditorium, located in Scarborough Hall.

Rockford University’s 161st Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m., at the Coronado Performing Arts Center in downtown Rockford.

The Office of Global Affairs will be hosting Dr. Araceli Alonso and Sergio Esnard as part of a lecture on contemporary Cuban life this Friday, April 10 at Rockford University. Dr. Alonso and Mr. Esnard will each discuss their personal experiences living in Cuba.

The Rockford University Art Gallery will feature pieces created by faculty members during an exhibit set to open Friday, April 10 at the Rockford University Art Gallery. Faculty members featured in the exhibit include Philip Soosloff, Dave Menard, Chris Sisson, and Danielle Barton.

Guest speaker Melissa Paulsen, Assistant Director, Gigot Center for Entrepreneurship, Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame will present “The Power of the Triple Bottom Line to Bolster Communities.”
