Rockford University Selected by Amazon as an Education Partner for Career Choice Program

Rockford University will provide Amazon hourly employees access to undergraduate
and online degree completion programs

 Amazon’s Career Choice program provides full tuition to learn new skills for
career success at Amazon or elsewhere

 

Rockford, Ill. (July 6, 2022) — Today, Rockford University, the region’s leading four-year educational institution, announced they have been selected as an education partner for Amazon’s Career Choice program, providing Amazon’s hourly employees access to all its undergraduate and degree completion programs.

“We are pleased that Amazon has chosen Rockford University as an education partner for their Career Choice Program,” said Dr. Eric Fulcomer, Rockford University President. “We are committed to ensuring that the high-quality education students receive at Rockford University is available to any Amazon employee who wishes to take part in the program.”

The university offers more than 80 majors, minors, and concentrations for undergraduate studies, including the online bachelor’s degree completion program offering a B.S. in management studies, accounting studies, and human services. Rockford University is offering a 15 percent tuition discount for the online degree completion program and part-time traditional undergrad students who enroll as Amazon Career Choice eligible employees. Amazon’s Career Choice program is an education benefit that empowers employees to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. The program meets individual learners where they are on their education journey through a variety of education and upskilling opportunities including full college tuition, industry certifications designed to lead to in-demand jobs, and foundational skills such as English language proficiency, high school diplomas, and GEDs. In the U.S., the company is investing $1.2 billion to upskill more than 300,000 employees by 2025 to help move them into higher-paying, in-demand jobs.

Amazon’s Career Choice program has a rigorous selection process for third-party partner educators, choosing partners that are focused on helping employees through their education programs, assisting them with job placements, and overall offering education that leads to career success.
