Rockford University will celebrate the start of its 170th year with the President’s Opening Convocation on Friday, August 26, at 12 p.m., in Maddox Theatre.

Among the highlights of the 11 fall Forum events are a seminar with the Walter Payton Family, the third annual Rockford City Dance Festival and numerous speakers presenting on a variety of topics including Melissa Fleming, head of communications and chief spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

One of the best ways to learn about RU is to come visit. There are several opportunities planned for coming year.

There is still time to enroll for fall courses at Rockford University. Classes begin Wednesday, August 24.

Rockford University was chosen as one of 21 organizations that will receive money to support the effective use of digitized primary sources in K-12 classrooms.

Final preparations are underway for Performing Arts students and faculty to make their journey to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform in this year’s international Festival Fringe.

Matthew D. Phillips ’04/’06 has been named as Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management for the 2016-17 year, filling the position previously held by Dr. Eric Fulcomer, who took over as President of Rockford University on July 1, 2016.

Rockford University Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) Michael Perry, Ph.D., has been selected as a 2016 NCAA Division III FAR Fellow.

Robert L. Head, Ph.D., will serve his last day as the University’s 17th president today, June 30, 2016.

July 1, 2016 marks the first day of Dr. Fulcomer’s presidency at the University. He previously served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
