Nurse: Lang Wellness Center

The Wellness Center Nurse provides high-quality, student-centered healthcare services in a university setting. This position supports student health and well-being through clinical care, health education, wellness promotion, and collaboration with campus partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, treat, and follow up on acute and chronic health concerns.
- Administer medications, immunizations, allergy injections, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and care planning.
- Respond to urgent health concerns and coordinate emergency care when necessary.
- Educate students on wellness topics, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Maintain confidential medical records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor student immunization compliance and support public health initiatives.
- Collaborate with counseling, disability services, residence life, and other campus departments.
- Assist academic departments with required medical documentation.
- Support clinic operations, including supplies, equipment, and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; BSN preferred.
- Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory care, public health, family practice, college health, or urgent care.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, patient education, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, and electronic health records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience working with adolescents and young adults preferred.

Work Environment
University-based clinical setting with regular interaction among students, faculty, staff, and healthcare professionals. Occasional evening hours or participation in campus wellness events may be required.
