MeaganMillerRockSolidRegent-750x748Megan is a senior elementary education major from Lanark, Illinois. She is working towards earning a teacher license with an additional endorsement in special education. She was nominated by Assistant Professor of Education, Dr. Lydia Gerzel-Short.‌‌‌

Dr. Gerzel-Short described Megan as a wonderful addition to RU. Specifically, Megan exemplifies scholarship and the dispositions needed to become an effective teacher. She comes to class prepared and ready to participate. Her professors are proud of her work ethic and how she asks questions in class. Additionally she is responsible and organized while seamlessly juggling school, work and her personal life. In the spring Megan will enter her pre-service teaching internship. Dr. Gerzel-Short is confident that her future students will be excited to learn with her.

Prior to coming to Rockford University, Megan attended Highland Community College. She believes that RU is a great place to study because of her professors who are passionate about preparing future teachers and who are also subject matter experts. She is also appreciative of the small class sizes which allow her to get to know great people. After graduation Megan plans to begin her career as an elementary school teacher. Congratulations, Megan!
