Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford University spring 2016 performing arts season will open with The Orchesis Student Dance Company’s presentation of “Body Language”. The show will run January 28-30 in Rockford University’s Maddox Theatre. The performance will showcase a wide variety of dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. Along with university students, dancers from the Rockford Dance Company II will be performing during the evening.
The next show in the season will be “Antigone”, which will run February 25-28 in the university’s Cheek Theatre. The play centers on Antigone, who defies her Uncle Creon’s decree that her brother should remain unburied. By doing so, she challenges the morality of man’s law overruling the law of the gods.
