The Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics (MCSP) Department at Rockford University invites applications for part-time instructor positions beginning in Fall 2026.

We are seeking qualified instructors to teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics service courses, including College Algebra, Math for Elementary School Teachers, and General Education Mathematics. Opportunities are also available to teach introductory Computer Science courses. In addition, we are seeking instructors for undergraduate and graduate-level Data Science courses.

Prior college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and enthusiasm for working with students in a small liberal arts university environment.

Qualifications

• For Mathematics service courses: A master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required.
• For introductory Computer Science courses: A master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required.
• For undergraduate Data Science courses: A master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field is required.
• For graduate-level Data Science courses in the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program: A Ph.D. in Data Science or a closely related field is required.

Mathematics, Data Science, and introductory Computer Science courses are taught in person on our Rockford campus, while graduate-level MSDS courses are delivered asynchronously online.
