Rockford University invites applicants for a tenure-track Professor of Urban Education, open rank, to begin August 2017. This individual is officially designated to coordinate (in consultation with the Department Chair) the M.Ed. in Urban Education Program.  The faculty member will teach courses in the program, oversee scheduling and the curriculum of the program, liaise with pertinent stakeholders, and engage in student recruitment activities.  Must carry an evening class load and attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours.  Applicants must be able to teach graduate level courses online and face-to-face.  Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Urban Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership or a relevant field with extensive scholarship pertinent to urban education.  Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential.

The successful candidate will teach courses in Special Education, oversee scheduling and the curriculum of the program, liaise with pertinent stakeholders, and engage in student recruitment activities.  Must carry an evening class load and attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours.  Applicants must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses online and face-to-face.  Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Special Education or a relevant field.  Doctoral candidates with ABD status will be considered.  Applicant must hold a Professional Educator’s License or teaching certificate with a credential to teach students with special needs.  At least 3 years of experience working directly with students with special needs. Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential.

Rockford University invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Education to begin August 2017. Applicants must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Early Childhood Education Program and have the ability to travel to off-campus sites for supervision of teacher candidates. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a relevant field. Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential. Five years of experience in a variety of early childhood settings is required.
