Disability Services

Rockford University is committed to creating a learning and living environment that supports students in achieving their academic potential. Differences in ability are valued as an integral component of a diverse community. Disability Support Services (DSS) facilitates an accessible education experience for students who have disabilities and serves as a resource to all members of the campus community.

DSS is committed to ensuring equitable access to a quality education for qualified students with disabilities through the provision of academic accommodations which support University standards and academic integrity. University policy provides for reasonable accommodations to be made for students with verified disabilities on an individualized and flexible basis as specified under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA  Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA).

DSS provides classroom accommodations to all students on campus who disclose a disability, request accommodations, and who meet eligibility criteria. We do not have specialized programs for specific types of disabilities.
