About/Bio
Assistant Professor Kim McCullough joined Rockford University in the spring of 2013 as an adjunct clinical instructor. She accepted a full-time tenured faculty position in the fall of 2013. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rockford College in 2007. Dr. McCullough completed her master’s degree at Saint Anthony College of Nursing in 2013 with a concentration in nursing education. Her master’s project was a literature review on “Educating Nurse’s on End-of-life Care”. She earned her doctoral degree at Saint Anthony College of Nursing in 2017 with a concentration in nursing leadership. Her doctoral project was on "Educating Newly Insured Individuals On How To Properly Use Their Insurance”. These individuals are insured through Medicaid Managed Care. The research was used to develop and publish two articles. The first one titled " I Am Insured But How Do I Use My Coverage: Lessons From The Front Lines Of Medicaid Reform” which was published in the Journal of Public Health Nursing. The second one titled "Unmanaging Managed Care: The Challenges Of Privatizing Medicaid In Illinois” which was published in Practicing Anthropology.

Dr. McCullough has worked in the areas of orthopedics, medical-surgical and home care. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
