Dr. William J. Doria completed undergraduate work at Lynchburg College, a small liberal-arts college in Virginia, before moving on to graduate work at Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to coming to Rockford, he was Associate Professor of Chemistry at University of the Ozarks, another small liberal-arts school, this time in Arkansas. There he primarily taught courses in General, Physical, Inorganic, and Forensic Chemistry.

Dr. Doria teaches courses including both General and Physical Chemistry, and pursuing research interests related to quantum chemistry, molecular modeling, and computational techniques, and exploring opportunities for community outreach, including working with Rockford public schools. When not thinking about science, he’s usually gardening, reading, or trying unsuccessfully to learn the fiddle.
