The Minority Male Mentoring Program (MMMP) will be hosting an informational meeting for any students who want to learn more about the program at Rockford University. Students will have the opportunity to meet with Coordinator Dr. Karen P. Walker, mentors and current MMMP students.
This event will take place on September 24 at 6pm on the second floor of the Burpee Center in the Faculty Dining room.
The program provides student support to African-American and Latino males to assist with the successful engagement, integration, and transition into Rockford University. Incoming minority males interested in participating in the program are connected to a continuing successful minority male student as well as a volunteer professional minority male mentor. Program events include discussion sessions titled, “Chop It Up” where program participants gather to discuss topics related to minority male student success. Participants are provided off-campus events and activities free of charge.
