Examining Modern Genocide Using Primary Source Documents

This workshop will delve into the complexities of modern genocide utilizing primary source documents to drive instruction. Attendees will examine the complex role of what defines genocide and how the atrocities that comprise the term evolve. Focus points will include summation and overview of modern world genocides, analysis of American and global response to genocide, and discussion of the role of the survivor in the modern world.Learners will be tasked with taking the lessons from this workshop back to their classrooms and lives to continue to intellectually engage others in this topic in hopes of one day ending atrocities worldwide.

Secondary and post-secondary educators and students are invited to register for this four-hour workshop. Two sessions, March 29 and April
19, 6-8pm. CPDU/PDH hours available for attending the entire four-hour workshop. No partial credits. To register, reply to mhamel@rockford.edu.
