CAREERS AND INTERNSHIPS

A wide range of career opportunities exists for graduates in kinesiology.

Students pursuing the exercise science track are introduced to careers in medical science, sport medicine, and personal training fields. Students will gain an understanding of how the body reacts to exercise and how to improve function and ability in others. Exercise science could be a springboard for graduate programs such as athletic training and sports medicine.

Students who pursue teaching licensure have found employment at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels in and around the region. Rockford University enjoys a strong reputation for its teacher preparation program.

Students who pursue sport management have found employment opportunities with professional and semi-professional sports organizations, park districts, youth groups, recreational centers, the YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, fitness centers, and wellness clubs.

In addition, graduates in both programs of study are well prepared to pursue graduate studies. Many graduates have received graduate assistantships from universities around the region and country.
