Mehmet Kahveci is the chair of the physics program in MCSP department at Rockford University (RU). In his current position, Professor Kahveci (aka Prof K) teaches introductory physics courses and related labs. Prof K has started working for RU in the fall semester of 2013. He is an experimental condensed matter physicist primarily carrying out research in the area of neutron scattering. He has, through collaboration, published several peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.

Before joining RU, he held a tenure track full-time faculty position at Eastern Florida State College in the 2012-2013 academic year. Prof K received his BS degree in Physics from Uludag University in Turkey. He holds three MS degrees in Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering and in Physics with the former from Aegean University in Turkey and the last two from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He is an ABD currently completing his dissertation in the physics department at University of Missouri.
