Rockford College’s commitment to being an engaged citizen in the community and world comes to life through service trips. The trips provide timely and dedicated service in an experiential learning environment. As an example, in 2006, a group of students and staff members visited a village in Thailand affected by the 2004 Tsunami and built a shelter where the villagers could go in future emergencies. In 2008, another group of students went to London to volunteer at Toynbee Hall, where our most famous alumna, Jane Addams, received her inspiration to build Hull-House in Chicago, Ill. To learn more about how to get involved in service trips, please contact the JACCE at 815-394-4382.
