The Rockford University Art Gallery provides a varied series of art exhibitions and related programming in support of the Department of Art and Art History and as an important educational and cultural resource for the campus and community. The Gallery is located in the Clark Arts Center, the locus of the University’s Department of Art and Art History.

Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays we are closed.
Admission is free.  Appetizers and refreshments provided at all gallery receptions.

Stephen Warde Anderson is an accomplished, self-taught artist who has perfected and adapted his technique over twenty years. He creates portraits and allegorical paintings revealing a splendid imagination and innocent admiration of women. His work is in many museum collections including the Smithsonian Art Gallery, Washington, DC; Museum of American Folk Art, New York, NY; Roger Brown Study Collection, Art Institute of Chicago, IL; Milwaukee Art Museum, WI; Rockford Art Museum, IL; Freeport Art Center, IL

The exhibition in the Rockford University Art Gallery highlights the width and breadth of the artist's career. It includes a selection of Anderson's paintings spanning the past ten years.
