Gaming Systems / Smart TV’s – Updated 8/9/2018

At this time the following game systems and devices work, but require a static IP from IT to function:

  • PS3 / 4
  • Wii / Wii U / Nintendo Switch
  • Xbox 360 / Xbox One
  • Roku TV’s / Streaming Boxes
  • Amazon Fire sticks / Streaming boxes

Apple TV’s will work, but must be brought to IT to be configured prior to use.

Google Chromecast will never be compatible with our network. It allows any user to hijack your device and change what you are watching. They are best used for individual/private networks.

We have a new method of receiving Static IP addresses:

You can submit a static IP request at the link below, or stop into the IT office!

Static IP Request / IT Work Order Portal

  1. To submit a request above, login to the IT work order system. The login is the same username / password combo as you use to login to this RU portal.
  2. Select the Static IP Request tab.
  3. Enter in your username, the type of device you’re connecting, and check the box.
  4. Click submit

Once we receive a request, we will try to fill it within the hour. Requests that are received after business hours will be setup the next business day.
