International Women’s Day

Think equal, build smart, innovate for change. International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

Please join the Rockford University UN Chapter in welcoming Judge Rosemary Collins who will speak on March 8 from 12-1 pm in Regents Hall.

This event was rescheduled from the February 5 event due to weather.

JACCE In Motion will be heading to Twisted Fork Festival to celebrate Black History Month with some delicious vegan soul food, African-inspired cuisine, healthy and delicious alternatives to your favorites.

This event is mainly for Rockford University students, staff and faculty who are vegan or considering veganism but vegan/inspiring vegans community member can be placed on a waiting list after February 17, once students had a chance to confirm attendance (Space is not guaranteed, subject to change due to weather conditions).

This activity requires a signed liability waiver and does not cover food and materials that you purchase. Non-RU students will have to pay $15 transportation fee. (End time may vary based on traffic and other delays, subject to change due to weather).

Transportation fees will be directed to the 2019 Alternative Spring Break as its an annual tradition for Rockford University students and alumni to build a home for a family in need during spring break.

Rockford University welcomes eleven regional high schools to campus Thursday, Jan 17, 2019 for the 14th NIATM Math Invitational, the Northern Illinois Association of Teachers of Mathematics’ annual math competition.

The invitational, organized and hosted by Math Program faculty, is set for 4:00-7:30 p.m. in the Starr Science Center.

Hundreds of competitors from 11 local high schools—Belvidere, Boylan, Byron, Harlem, Hononegah, Rochelle, Rockford Christian, Stillman Valley, Winnebago, Woodstock and Woodstock North—will attend the event with their coaches and guardians for individual and team tests in several disciplines.

Plant-Based Discussion

The Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement and Student Activities will be hosting our first plant-based discussion on November 28 from 11am to 1pm in the President’ dining room.

Bring your lunch and questions. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is vegetarian or considering being a vegetarian or vegan to attend and learn more.

We will discuss visiting an animal sanctuary during the spring and also encourage people interested in taking the veganuary challenge.
