Prospect Research Specialist

Rockford University invites candidates for the position of Prospect Research Specialist. The Prospect Research Specialist is a member of the Office of Advancement and plays a key role in the development operation, ensuring that efforts are focused on working with the ideal candidate of gift closures that are timely and donor-centric. Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant V.P. for Advancement, the Specialist is responsible for all aspects of pipeline and relationship management, defining and refining prospect portfolios, assisting the Vice President, AVP and President in moving prospects through the development pipeline toward gift closure.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidates must demonstrate strong writing, verbal and communication skills with a high degree of precision. Candidates must demonstrate strong project-management and organizational skills to effectively set self-directed and institutionally led priorities while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Candidates must be self-starters, with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in the areas of prospect management and research, preferably within an academic setting. Familiarity with APRA (Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement) standards expected.
