Physics Lecturer

The Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics Department at Rockford University (RU) seeks qualified candidates for a full-time academic year teaching position starting January 2024. This position comes with a benefits package and may be continued into future years. The qualified candidate must hold, at minimum, a Master’s Degree in Physics or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred but not required, ABD candidates are encouraged to apply.

This is a teaching position for lower and upper-level undergraduate teaching in Physics. The Physics program at RU has a minor and is responsible for teaching general education and other service courses. A typical teaching load is 15 load hours per semester. Other responsibilities include attending department, college, and faculty meetings. The successful candidate with receive mentorship within the department and RU. They will also have the opportunity for curricular and programmatic input.

An ideal candidate will be creative, innovative, collaborative, and supportive of students. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching.
