DESCRIPTION:Join the volunteers from the Northern Illinois Chapter of The Human Library on Nov. 12 at 7 PM and gain access to “The Human Library”.  \nThe Human Library is\, in the true sense of the word\, a library of people. Since 2000\, Human Library events have featured human beings serving as open books\, allowing interactive conversations that the audience would not normally have access to. Every human book from our bookshelf represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice\, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle\, diagnosis\, belief\, disability\, social status\, or ethnic origin. This interactive event will last at least 90 minutes; please plan accordingly.  \nPresented by volunteers from the Northern Illinois Chapter of The Human Library and in collaboration with the Office of Global Affairs and the Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement.

DESCRIPTION:Come join the International students at Rockford University as they prepare a wide variety of international dishes for the University’s annual International Food Festival. \nThis event will take place on Saturday\, April 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.\, doors open at 4:30 p.m.\, in Regents Hall\, 2nd floor\, Burpee Center. \nSponsored by Rockford University’s Multicultural Club and the Office of Global Affairs\, the International Food Festival features authentic recipes from over 33 countries like Denmark\, Germany\, Philippines\, Japan\, China\, Sweden\, Turkey\, Syria\, Italy\, Saudi Arabia\, Mexico and France. Members from the Multicultural Club will prepare foods so that visitors can taste home cooked meals from their countries. International entertainment is also planned so that guests can enjoy traditional song and dance while they eat. Rockford University is currently home to more than 112 international students representing 23 countries.

DESCRIPTION:International students at Rockford University will prepare a wide variety of international dishes for the University’s 10th annual International Food Festival\, Saturday\, April 21 from 5 to 8 p.m.\, doors will open at 4:30 p.m.\, in Regents Hall\, 2nd floor\, Burpee Center on the Rockford University Campus located at 5050 East State Street\, Rockford. \nSponsored by Rockford University’s Multicultural Club and the Office of Global Affairs\, the International Food Festival will feature authentic recipes from countries like Germany\, Philippines\, Japan\, China\, Sweden\, Turkey\, Syria\, Italy\, Saudi Arabia\, Liberia\, Mexico and Bosnia. Members from the Multicultural Club will prepare foods so that visitors can taste home cooked meals from their countries. International entertainment is also planned so that guests can enjoy traditional song and dance while they eat. Rockford University is currently home to more than 114 international students representing 26 countries
