Operations Specialist, College of Professional and Extended Learning

Rockford University is looking for an Operations Specialist to join the College of Professional & Extended Learning (CPEL), a new and innovative unit focused on business partnerships, professional programming, and career placement. CPEL aims to transform the professional learning and workforce development landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something fresh and dynamic, where your skills in departmental operations, relationship management, and event planning and organizing will make a real impact.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll take the lead day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring seamless execution of professional programs, and handling key administrative functions. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the process for data tracking and analysis for reporting trends and KPIs.
  • Co-ordinating and tracking projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies using technology.
  • Learn CPEL systems and integrate AI into everyday projects for optimitzation.
  • Assisting with external partnerships, communication, and support.
  • Assist in coordinating events such as workshops, bootcamps, and business summits.
  • Connecting with RU students and alumni with work experiences for Career Connection.
  • Managing the CPEL calendar.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Proficiency with Office 365 tools, data analysis & project management tools, and willingness to learn other applications.
  • Comfort with using AI and open to learning integration methodologies.
  • A self-starter mentality: you take initiative & ownership.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll be engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A minimum of an associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred).
