After having successfully served as Superintendent of Schools for districts in both Pennsylvania and Illinois, as well as holding leadership positions of Assistant Superintendent, Director of Curriculum, Assessment, & Instruction, Principal, Vice-Principal, and Lead Teacher, Dr. Joseph Petrella has earned the reputation of a strategic educational leader and change agent with more than 25 years of experience in assessing enterprise-wide capacity and developing and implementing evidence-based, actionable educational training programs which fuel systemic reform. Throughout his career, Dr. Petrella has yielded quantifiable gains for diverse entities within academic and non-academic sectors which are vision/mission-driven and committed to safeguarding a given organization’s most valuable assets – its stakeholders. 

Joining the University in January 2018, Dr. Petrella leads the University’s efforts to ensure excellence in academic rigor, relevance, outcomes, and student engagement.
