Author of bestselling book Three Cups of Tea\, Mortenson rose to prominence on a mission to build schools for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan\, but has left a legacy tarnished by scandal after accusations of using charitable funds from his Central Asia Institute for personal gain. In addition to the screening\, President Dr. Eric W. Fulcomer moderates an on-stage Q&A-style interview with Jordan.

DESCRIPTION:Public reception for Stephen Cartwright’s solo exhibition\, “Surface Elements” at the Rockford University Art Gallery in the Clark Arts Center from 6-8 p.m. The artist will also be giving a public lecture in Art History Room 111 in the Clark Arts Center at 5 p.m. \nFor 18 years\, Stephen Cartwright has recorded his exact latitude\, longitude and elevation for every hour of every day. He incorporates this data into digital and sculptural work that intersects the realms of science and art. Using this and other self-recorded data\, Cartwright creates bold\, minimal landscape sculptures and digital media projects that explore topography\, temperature\, light\, and movement.
