SUMMARY:Brown Bag Presentation: Socially Conscious Musicals and Audience Attitude Changes
DESCRIPTION:In 2023\, Prof. Barnathan directed and choreographed the Arizona premiere of the musical Miss You Like Hell at Arizona State University. Miss You Like Hell tells the story of an undocumented Mexican-American woman seeking to gain her legal citizenship status. Pre-show and post-show surveys were circulated to audience members to track attitudes toward undocumented immigrants and immigrants in general. \nAbout 30% of the 50 respondents who filled out both the pre-show and post-show surveys showed an increase in their empathy toward immigrants as a result of seeing the musical. In this Brown Bag session\, Prof. Barnathan would like to get feedback from fellow faculty and staff about the possibility of conducting a similar research project at RU.

If you have a group attending who wishes to sit together\, please have them arrive together or plan to sit in separate areas.\nSeating in Maddox Theatre is limited.\nPlease check in no later than 10:30 a.m. in the Lower Level of Clark Arts.\nEnter the main entrance of Clark Arts\, and head down the stairs to the left of the main lobby.\nDo not bring any personal belongings. DESCRIPTION:FCA will be hosting our volleyball tournament on Sunday\, March 30 from 7-10 pm in Seaver Gym. Each team will be guaranteed two games in a double elimination bracket style competition. Teams will need minimum of 2 women and no more than 3 RU volleyball players. Sign up for teams will be done using the QR code on our Instagram (link will also be in our bio) or the TVs around campus. You can also show up and be put on a team. We will be printing posters out for around campus. We will also have pizza\, chips\, and water. There will be random raffles at the end of the night with gift cards worth a total of $1000. All are welcome to join us for some fun!!!
