DESCRIPTION:Each Wednesday from 11 am – 2 pm\, you are invited to come by the Burpee Student Center Den for a free craft and snack with Commuter Council. We hope to see you there! Activities this week include coloring pages\, stickers\, and iron on decals which celebrate Black History\, Hope\, & Peace. Snacks this week will feature baked goods from a local Black-owned business. As always\, masks and social distancing are required. Please bring your Student ID to check in to this event.

DESCRIPTION:The RU Career Closet is presented by the Rockford University’s Career Development Department. It is located in the Grace Roper Lounge of the Burpee Student Center. \nWhat is a Professional Headshot?  \nA professional headshot is a photograph you use to create a personal brand of who you are. Professional headshots focus on your upper body\, including your head and shoulders. Your professional headshot can be used for LinkedIn\, your email account\, your social media profile picture\, online portfolios you may have\, or your Zoom\, Google\, or Skype account for video interviews. \nHow can I get a Professional Headshot?  \nAs a bonus for registering for upcoming Career Exploration & Job Fair\, students can get a FREE professional headshot! To register for the fair\, go to rockford.edu/careerfair or register on-the-spot during the RU Career Closet event. \nWhat do I wear for my Professional Headshot? \nDress how you would for an interview for a job in your field. \nWhat is the RU Career Closet? \nThe Career Closet is a place where Rockford University Students can find professional clothing for FREE! The Career Closet is donation-driven and designed specifically for RU students who are looking for professional clothing to wear for an interview or for their first day on-the-job. The closet includes professional clothing of all types: dress pants\, shirts\, jackets\, dresses\, skirts\, ties and MORE! \nHow does it work? \nEach student will be allowed one outfit per semester and will need to show their Rockford University ID before looking through the Career Closet. Would YOU like to take a look at what the Career Closet has to offer? Make an appointment by emailing careers@rockford.edu or by attending our open hours during lunch. \nWhen is it open\, and where is it located? \nThe Career Closet is located in the Grace Roper Lounge of the Burpee Student Center.
