DESCRIPTION:Save the date: Reunion 2017\n  October 13 and 14\, 2017 \nWhen were you last on campus? Has it been 5\, 10\, 25 or even 50 years? However long it may have been\, now is the time to start thinking about your return to Rockford for a weekend with fellow Regents\, current students and favorite faculty. \nWe hope you will join us for a weekend of celebrating being a Regent! We look forward all the activities including campus tours\, musical performances\, sporting events\, award presentations\, Golden Grad celebrations\, lectures\, and an appearance from mascot Reggie the Regent. We hope you will be able to join us. Online registration and registration brochure will be available soon. \nSpecial weekend activities will revolve around the classes listed below\, but everyone is welcome! DESCRIPTION:This bi-annual career fair is set up to connect students with employers in their field of study.  It provides opportunities for internships\, full time and part time employment and attracts employers in numerous different industries.  This fair has opportunities for students looking to gain valuable experience\, obtain a job upon graduating\, and make money to help pay for college\, or a combination of these.

SUMMARY:Mahlburg Scholars: Speaker Dr. Roger Villamar
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Roger M. Villamar\, assistant professor of anthropology and sociology at Rockford University\, will present “Jivaroan Groups\, Anthropologists\, and Stereotypes: Contemporary Images of the Peruvian Awajún and Wampís” at the Burpee Museum of Natural History on Sunday\, March 12. As an applied anthropologist with a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida\, Dr. Villamar will describe his years of research and involvement with the Awajún and Wampís of the western Peruvian Amazon\, the role anthropologists have played in Amazonian studies\, media portrayals and stereotypes of indigenous peoples\, and his most recent research and current projects with Awajún and Wampís activists and professionals. Admission is $5\, or free for museum members.
