Dialogue and Peacebuilding in These Complex Times
Linda Low
Executive Director of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom US (WILPF)
Monday, September 21, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
Fisher Chapel, Rockford University
To commemorate the International Day of Peace we celebrate with the leader of WILPF, an organization founded by Jane Addams and others in 1915 committed to the advancement of immigrant rights, women’s rights, and human rights. Low has also served as a Peace Fellow at the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center and led communications and advocacy for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent. A keynote speaker on peacebuilding, she founded an initiative called Leadership Dialogues that facilitates dialogue fostering civil discourse. She is founder of Global Partners in Peace Rotary Club, convening peacebuilding and conflict resolution practitioners in 10 countries.
Since its founding, WILPF stood up to the FBI and others for decades speaking the truth about the costs of war and refusing to compromise that work. Today WILPF operates in 40 countries around the world from its offices in New York City and Geneva and through its connections with the UN Economic and Social Council.
