Assistant or Associate Professor of Special Education, Tenure-track

Rockford University invites applicants for a tenure-track Professor of Education, Assistant/Associate rank, to begin August 2017. The successful candidate will teach courses in Special Education, oversee scheduling and the curriculum of the program, liaise with pertinent stakeholders, and engage in student recruitment activities.  Must carry an evening class load and attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours.  Applicants must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses online and face-to-face.  Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Special Education or a relevant field.  Doctoral candidates with ABD status will be considered.  Applicant must hold a Professional Educator’s License or teaching certificate with a credential to teach students with special needs.  At least 3 years of experience working directly with students with special needs. Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential.
