Adjunct Physics Instructor

05/04/2020 3:42 pm

Rockford University invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach courses and/or laboratory sessions for introductory Physics to begin Fall 20. The introductory Physics courses are designed to teach physics concepts in a two-course algebra-based/calculus-based sequence.

The teaching load is expected to be about 6 hours per week with flexibility on day/times to accommodate an adjunct schedule. This would be a great opportunity for an aspiring faculty member to be instructor of record, someone returning to physics after a hiatus, or a retiree who wants to enjoy teaching again.

In addition to the adjunct pay, there is possible support for travel in case of commute more than 20 miles.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Physics, Physics Education or related field from an accredited college or university required. Prior teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small liberal arts university setting is essential.

Review of applications will start immediately. Interested candidates should e-mail a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, list of three professional references and all related transcripts, graduate and undergraduate (official upon hire) to HumanResources@rockford.edu.
