Rockford College students volunteering in Thailand At Rockford College, our vision is to be Jane Addams’ college in the 21st century. By that, we signal an aspiration to live, learn and work in a contemporary way that honors the principles of
Jane Addams, our distinguished 1881 graduate and 1931 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

The core component of Rockford College’s vision is civic engagement. This supports our mission “to prepare students for…participation in a modern and changing global society.” Because of this, we have been named by The Princeton Review as a "College with a Conscience."

Students at Rockford College don't hesitate to volunteer their time and talents. They teach adults to read, spend spring break building a house for an underprivileged family, volunteer in a soup kitchen and just recently they built a shelter in Thailand.

Whether it be in a classroom, on an athletic team, in our theater, as a volunteer for a community service project or through experiences studying abroad, your time at Rockford College will change your world.
