ILLINOIS FUTURE TEACHERS CORP
Awards of up to $5,000 per year for a maximum of four semesters.
In addition, up to $10,000 per year is available to students who
choose to teach in a “hard-to-staff” school or teacher
shortage discipline.
ILLINOIS INCENTIVE FOR ACCESS
$500 grant awarded to incoming Illinois freshman students.
MONETARY
AWARD PROGRAM (MAP)
Provides grant assistance to eligible Illinois students

with tuition. These aren’t handouts – some will need

FEDERAL PELL GRANTS
Need-based federal grants awarded for up to $4,050*.
FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY
GRANTS (SEOG)
Need-based grants that range from $200 to $2,000.
FEDERAL STAFFORD LOANS
Students may borrow the following amounts correlating
to their year: $3,500 for freshman, $4,500 as sophomores,
$5,500 as juniors and seniors, and $8,500 as graduate
students.
FEDERAL PERKINS LOANS
Need-based loans with a maximum value of $8,000 over four years.
FEDERAL PARENT LOAN FOR UNDERGRADUATE
STUDENTS (PLUS)
Designed specifically for parents, this program allows them to
borrow the difference between aid awarded and actual tuition costs.
