SUMMARY: The Sports Information Graduate Assistant will assist the Sports Information Director with the promotion and publicity of Rockford College’s 17 NCAA Division III intercollegiate varsity sports.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sports Information Graduate Assistant will include but are not limited to assisting with all game day operations; writing, editing, and disseminating press releases, game notes and stories; producing athletics publications including game programs, media guides, and recruiting brochures; updating the athletics website (www.GoRegents.com); compiling, maintaining, and distributing statistics; and operating computer systems including Adobe InDesign and Stat Crew. Some travel may be required, as well.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or related field; admission into a Rockford College graduate program; previous experience in a Sports Information Office is preferred; Experience with and knowledge of Adobe suite and Stat Crew is recommended.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Sports Information requires attendance at most home athletic events, both indoor and outdoors; Extensive nights and weekends are required; Office work will also be involved.
