Title: Regent Guides – Student Ambassadors

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the primary supervision of the Admissions, Regent Guides promote and personalize the college to prospective students, their families, and other guests to the campus. Through guided tours of the core campus, Regent Guides educate visitors about general pre-admissions requirements, academic and campus life, as well as the history, traditions, and achievements of the college.

Guided tours last 1 to 1.5 hours and include an information session and a walking tour of the core campus.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct and facilitate the following types of tours:

Individual – prospective students and their families and/or guests

Candidate – prospective candidates for on-campus positions

Special groups – middle, high school, transfer and non-traditional students as well as different guest groups of the college

• Participate in student representative groups for special group tours and visits

• Calling prospective students and answering questions about the college

• Be knowledgeable and up-to-date on the campus' history, traditions, and college highlights

• Assist guests in answering questions about the university, and referring when appropriate

• Stay well informed about all aspects of academic and campus life and services available on campus

• Periodically gather new information from campus departments/offices

Variable hours may require you to work some evenings and weekends (including but not limited to Visit Days, ROAR, Transfer Registration and other special tours)

• General office duties

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excitement and pride for Rockford College

• Desire to work with guests of the university

• Ability to work with diverse populations

• Skill and enthusiasm to present to groups of 15 or more

• Ability to problem solve, think on your feet and be flexible under pressure

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Professional demeanor, ability to work well under minimal yet specific supervision

• Mature, self-motivated, quick learner and punctual

• Knowledge of Rockford College campus and programs (training will be provided)
