Rockford, Ill., —  Professor Catherine Forslund, Ph.D., will be giving the Lunch and Learn lecture at Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum on Thursday February 27. The lecture will explore the variety of roles women played in the war-time United States and will draw from Dr. Forslund’s book, "We are a College at War: American Women in World War II,” co-authored with University professors Mary Weaks-Baxter and Chris Bruun. Before and during the war, college women—especially those at Rockford College—were concerned about many things, the nation entering the war, helping to bring about victory through activism, factory work, and military service. Looking at experiences both on the home front and abroad, a picture emerged that illustrated women’s vital commitment and contribution during this time.

Cost of the lecture is $5, with a $15 lunch option. The lecture will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum is located at 411 Kent Street, Rockford. Please contact the museum at 815-964-2424 with any additional questions.
