DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Rockford University is experiencing one of the most vibrant periods in its 166 year history.
- Gift and Grant Revenue has averaged $3.6 million over the last three fiscal years.
- Since FY07, $7 million has been raised and used for the capital purchases of fixed assests.
- Since FY09 we have seen an 8% net increase in undergraduate enrollment
Building on that momentum, we are looking for someone with demonstrated success to directly lead an active team that is focused on increasing our overall fundraising capacity, while identifying, developing and soliciting funding sources during a period of very specific and directed campaign activity. You will report to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement who leads a 16 member team of Development, Alumni, Marketing and Communications professionals. Develop and provide direct oversight of a six-member alumni and
development team that is engaged in a comprehensive and integrated plan that supports
the ongoing identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of
individuals, foundations and corporations.
Develop and implement a multi-channel communication plan that
effectively delivers a compelling case for support, in order to advance the development
and alumni programs.
Work across the University to identify and meet funding needs with
unrestricted and restricted giving through the Charter Fund (annual fund),
Capital Campaigns, Endowment Building and Planned Giving.
Maintain and solicit an active portfolio of up to 100 major or
potential major donors.
Create and execute a strategy to create a growing base of annual
Oversee a strategy of engagement through the use of organized special

proposal process for fundraising to individuals, foundations and corporations.
Plan, lead, and manage all development projects, in a coordinated
effort with peer directors within Institutional Advancement to achieve desired
outcomes, while tracking and reporting on progress to senior managers and the
Board of Trustees.
BA (required), Masters (a plus)
5-plus years experience in development
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and
