Rockford, Ill. -- Local elementary students will get a big boost to their library thanks to a community based learning graduate project organized by Rockford University graduate students, Kelcy Ainsworth (S. Beloit) and Corey Hageman (Freeport). The results were impressive with 400 books collected. The books will be delivered to CICS Patriots School Principal Angelique Watson on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Led by Kelcy and Corey, RU students in the "Special education methods for diverse learners” class organized a book drive on campus. Books were collected for a one month period in each campus building. Once collected, the books were leveled and labeled by the classes for distribution.

From elementary to graduate students, all are excited about the results of this one.
