Rockford, Ill., — Rockford University will host a briefing on the topic "U.S. Re-Focus on the Asia Pacific: Challenges & Opportunities in Korea-U.S. Relations” with special guest His Excellency H.E. Ho-young Ahn, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United States. The briefing will take place Tuesday, September 3, 4:30 – 5:15 p.m., Fisher Memorial Chapel, 5050 East State Street, on the Rockford University campus.
The discussion will be moderated by Robert L. Head, Ph.D., president of Rockford University. Also contributing will be The Honorable Donald Manzullo, president and CEO of the Korea Economic Institute of America and former U.S. Congressman.
As described by Congressman Manzullo, "This year marks the 60th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance, an alliance described as a linchpin of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific. As the U.S. re-focuses attention on the Asia-Pacific, Korea has become an increasingly important security and economic partner for the United States, with the US-Korea FTA creating more opportunities for manufacturing and exporting.”
