Peer Writing Center Tutor

POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR PEER WRITING CENTER TUTOR

The Writing Center works with Rockford University students on their writing projects, regardless of academic discipline, at any stage of the writing process.  Students can seek assistance with brainstorming topics, editing a lab report, developing an outline for a research project, or analyzing sources.  The aim of the Writing Center Peer Tutor is not to correct written work; rather, the peer tutor aims to provide student writers with the tools and strategies they need to correct their own work independendently.  The Writing Center tutors provide assistance face-to-face in the Colman Library or online through the Virtual Writing Center on the portal.   Must be a full-time undergraduate Student.


Prior to applying, interested students must obtain a Work Study Authorization Card from Student Adminisitrative Services (SAS) to present to the hiring Supervisor at the time of interview.
