Job Title: Graduate Assistant, Operations

Dates of Employment: 8/1/13 to 7/31/14



The Operations GA will provide logistical and baseline project management support for AVP of Operations.  While specific work will be tailored to match the career and academic goals of each student holding this position, the work will generally consist of organization of strategic initiatives, assist in capital project management, and general office work in partnership with AVP of Operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in various projects as assigned
  • Organize meetings and other logistical support for Large Capital Projects
  • Coordinate work process improvement exercises
  • Coordinate various strategic and tactical initiatives as assigned
  • Assist in preliminary financial and budgetary work for all Operation Departments
  • Assist AVP Operations in any contract discussions that may occur
  • Support office of AVP Operations with various general office work
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or other related and applicable field
  • Must be admitted into Rockford College MAT or MBA program
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office suite products
  • Working knowledge and/or aptitude of operation departmental focuses
  • Ability to actively participate in professional meetings including presenting in front of audiences
  • Ability to prepare professional reports and communicate findings effectively to a range of audiences

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position will be that of general office work.  Work in the Operations Departments demands that person within this position will need to walk around buildings and various mechanical rooms.  Personal protective equipment will be issued when necessary.
