Career Day gives local students opportunity to meet one-on one with area professionals

Rockford, Ill., — The Rockford College Economics, Accounting and Business department is hosting its annual Career Day on Thursday, November 29, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Regents Hall, Burpee Center, Rockford College, 5050 East State Street.

Approximately 200 junior and senior students from several area high schools will be joining college staff and faculty, local professionals, and alumni at this year’s High School Career Day at Rockford College. The event gives students a unique opportunity to visit with area professionals and learn about a variety of career choices first-hand. Participants will be informed of what it takes to be in business and more about the career options that are available to them. More than 35 local professionals will volunteer their time to meet and share their expertise with the students including representatives from Goodwill Industries, Rockford College, United Technologies Aerospace Systems (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand), the Rockford Park District, Zen Physical Medicine and more.

Also speaking at Career Day are Rockford Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Einar Forsman and Dr. Ehren Jarrett, Assistant Superintendent of Rockford Public Schools and Incoming Superintendent.
