Fall Certificate Programs for Non-Profit Leadership
The Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence (NICNE) at Rockford College will be hosting three programs this fall: Effective Governance, Faith-based Non-profit Leadership Certificate, and Non-profit Leadership Certificate. All sessions will be held on the Rockford College campus at 5050 E State Street, Rockford, Ill. Session times and program costs can be found for respective track at http://www.rockford.edu/?NICNEEdTraining.
Effective Governance - Non-profit board training: The first program is a series of seven lectures concerning ‘Effective Governance’, non-profit board training which begins on October 3 and continues every Wednesday at 4 p.m. until November 14 in the Rockford College Grace Roper Lounge. The board training is designed for current board members, potential board members and non-profit executive staff members interested in current information for changing times and effective governance.
Non-profit Leadership Certificate: The second program offered by NICNE will be the non-profit leadership certificate program which begins Thursday, September 6 at 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Rockford College Graduate Studies building located at 5100 E State Street, Rockford, Ill. The program will continue through the spring. The certificate in non-profit leadership will be valuable to non-profit employees looking to update and improve skills, non-profit managers seeking leadership positions, non-profit board members looking to fill an advisory role, new leaders beginning a non-profit, and individuals looking to enter the non-profit world. Participants will strengthen their abilities in personal leadership, marketing, human resources, financial management, and strategic thinking and planning.
Faith-based Non-profit Leadership Certificate: The final program offered this fall will be the Faith-based non-profit leadership certificate. The program starts on September 4 at 1:30 in the Rockford College Graduate Studies building located at 5100 E State Street, Rockford, Ill. Faith based organizations have additional challenges compared to other non-profit organizations. Managing predominantly a volunteer staff, maintaining large facilities, drafting meaningful literature, and offering around the clock spiritual support is taxing compounded with general operating challenges of cash flow, marketing, fundraising, planning, and staff leadership. The faith-based leadership certificate program will equip you with the information and skills necessary to manage your place of worship or faith-based service organization.
