KOHLER, Wis. – The men’s tennis team concluded its 2012 campaign over the weekend at the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament.  The Regents got four players into the tournament with three of them falling in the second round and one advancing to the round of sixteen.

It was sophomore Mladen Ubiparipovic (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) that advanced into the third round and narrowly missed getting into the quarterfinals.  After being awarded the #7 seed in the tournament and receiving a first round bye, Ubiparipovic easily advanced through his opening match winning 6-2, 6-2.  After dropping the first set of his next match, he battled back to win the second set and force a third set tiebreak.  However, Ubiparipovic came up just short falling in three sets 3-6, 7-5, 5-10.  The sophomore had an excellent year for the Regents playing in the #1 singles spot for first time in his collegiate career.  He finished the year 5-7 in singles matches including winning his first ever match in the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament.
