Rockford-based artists feature graffiti street art to create on site mural as part of "Army of Fleabag Dreamers” exhibit
Rockford, Ill., – Rockford College will host "Army of Fleabag Dreamers” exhibition from March 23 – April 20, 2012 in the Rockford College Art Gallery located in the Clark Arts Center, 5050 East State Street, Rockford. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, March 23, 5-9 p.m. in the Clark Arts Center lobby. The Spring ArtScene special events program in the college’s Gallery will also include a printmaking demonstration on Saturday, April 14, at 4 p.m. and musical performances by Vic Monsta, Xen and King of the Demons on Friday, April 13, 7–9 p.m.
"Army of Fleabag Dreamers” features the work of Rockford-based artists that work in the realm of graffiti street-art and combines several working methods including printmaking, drawing and painting. For this exhibit, the artists collaborate to create an on-sight mural in the Gallery that comments on visual culture while elevating awareness of social and political issues.
The Rockford College Art Gallery Hours are Tuesday – Friday, 3–6 p.m. and by appointment. Spring ArtScene Gallery Hours are Friday, April 13, 5–9 p.m., and Saturday, April 14, 3–9 p.m.
