Career Day gives area high school students chance to meet one-on-one with local professionals

Rockford, Ill., — Approximately 200 junior and senior students for several area high schools will be joining, college staff and faculty, local professionals and alumni at this year’s High School Career Day at Rockford College on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Sponsored by the Economics, Business and Accounting department, the event gives students a unique opportunity to visit with area professionals and learn about a variety of career choices first-hand. Participants will be informed of what it takes to be in business and more about the career options that are available to them. More than 35 local professionals will volunteer their time to meet and share their expertise with the students including representatives from Goodwill Industries, Rockford College, Hamilton Sundstrand, BMO-Harris Bank, the Rockford Park District, SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford Health Systems and more. Also speaking at Career Day are Rockford Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Einar Forsman and Sunil Puri, President of First Rockford Group, Inc.
This year’s Career Day welcomes several new high schools to the event with more than 200 students expected to attend. Participating high schools include: Auburn, Boylan, East, Guilford, Jefferson, Lutheran, Beloit Memorial, Belvidere North, Belvidere, Hononegah, and South Beloit
